Talking Teds

As I continually like to mention, I derive great pleasure from helping people – especially with business and marketing endeavors. So in the past, I have volunteered to guest teach a marketing class at Adelphi, hire people almost right out of college to mold them or even show my kids how to set up an Etsy store to sell custom phone cases.

Being that I come from a family of teachers where my dad and sister PLUS father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law all teach, I think that my life definitely could have gone down that path. So the closest thing I have to teaching is when I have been lucky enough to been invited to participate in local TedX events in Deer Park.

Essentially, the organizer sets a broad topic and then it is up to the presenter to mold that into a coherent talk. The first one was filmed literally a week before Covid shut down the world and the focus was on Paradox.

The second one was filmed a year later and focused on Connection.

For anyone who has 7 or so minutes to get a little deeper, hopefully ONE LINE or a portion of these talks can help you find peace or insight. Life is hard. But there is wisdom in looking backwards while moving forward.

Lastly, does anyone know where the title of the first TedTalk comes from? Up, Up, Down, Down? Put it in the comments if you know!
